January House Concert

Had a wonderful time at our house concert last night, which we’re planning to keep hosting once a month.  What a fantastic group of musicians and friends, old and new!  I’m so grateful to my Pent Up bandmates and collaborators for helping to make these concerts happen.  We all need more opportunites to perform, and the impetus to practice, and a reason to learn and write new songs.  I love being able to switch seamlessly between girl-with-a-piano originals, rocking covers, geek songs, traditional ballads, and random riffery.

My heartfelt thanks to Bill Craig for coming out and joining us.  Happily, he had a hole in his schedule to fill.  Devin Melanson (stage monkey extraordinaire, and one half of the glorious duo that is Iocane Power) brought a carload of gear, made us all sound great, and even had the foresight to bring a sub-woofer, which is possibly the only way to capture the magnificent bass that is Bill’s voice.

However, when Mr. Craig put an electric guitar in my hands, I knew I was in trouble.  It’s only a matter of time before I graduate from acoustic to electric now.  Can’t wait to do it all again soon!
