Belladonna demanded this song be written in one of the F keys. My synesthetic brain translates F keys and chords into shades of purple, like the flowers and purple-black berries of deadly nightshade. This plant has been used to dilate the pupils of the eyes for centuries and was once considered a beauty trick. It has been suggested that women used drops of atropine to blur their own vision thereby making potential mates more appealing. But it is commonly believed that wide eyes were deemed to be more alluring than regular ones, and probably everyone else was doing it anyway.
