From the recording 12 Months a Year
Bonus track: While on tour I was driving south from Flagstaff toward Sedona over the mountains. It was just before sunset. The sky was amethyst and rose quartz, a tiny sliver moon hanging over the forested slopes. I pulled off just to be there alone, at the top of a mountain, to watch summer twilight begin, and a car pulled off behind me. The girl who got out was Audriana and we were both on the road, chasing our dreams.
Lyrics
Driving to Sedona
down in Arizona
with the daylight fading
and the music playing
At 7000 feet
in the driver's seat
I pulled off just to breathe
on my own
As the newly crescent moon
went chasing down the sun
and the stars came blinking on
one by one
I could see and so could she
when she pulled up behind me
sometimes
you gotta stop and clear your mind
At the side of the road
Add a pause in the flow
All I know about that girl
is Audriana's gonna change the world
We were little markers
saying go a little farther
Follow what you love
Reach and reach above
At 7000 feet
in the summer heat
we knew we'd never meet again
At the side of the road
Add a pause in the flow
All I know about that girl
is Audriana's gonna change the world
What I know about that girl
is Audriana's gonna change the world someday
She was 20
I was twice that
Fate and faith said
don't care how
Driving south at
half-past twilight
I wonder where she is now
I wonder where she is now
At the side of the road
Add a pause in the flow
All I know about that girl
is Audriana's gonna change the world
What I know about that girl
is Audriana's gonna change the world someday
