"The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel" is a very dear film to me. It puts me in a unique emotional space of vulnerability alongside characters who engage with change in different ways. Challenging tradition, expectation, assumption, while taking chances, living to love & feel connection, and risking the seeming-impossible.
Musically, I wanted to capture some of that feeling of stepping out in front of something, of diving under the wave instead of being knocked over by it, of the hope and adventure that can come at any age if you're open to starting again with the courage to see what happens when you do.
I want to believe, as they say in the film, "Everything will be alright in the end, and if it's not alright then this is not yet the end."
