My third song for the #poisonerchallenge in honour of Poison Hemlock (Conium maculatum). When I first wrote it I thought it was a tango and asked @quadrivium to play it on the piano for me. She sent me the tango version and suggested it might work better as a #bossanova (which it totally did) so she played that too!

Literally all I did was write it, send her some chords and sing the lead vocals. She recorded EVERYTHING ELSE and magnificently so - piano, #bass_clarinet, backing vocals. I did a bit of engineering to tie it together and voila! It's a swanky little beauty and I love it.

Mary (Quadrivium): Leslie sent me this absolute banger of a song and asked if I would like to do some things on it, and I was like Hell Yeah!!!! I adore Leslie’s voice, lyrics, and compositions. And I just love working with them on projects. It’s always fun! They’ve already talked about our process. I want to add that I love to be asked to play #bass_clarinet or #clarinet (or both) in people’s recordings and so grateful they gave me the opportunity.
