“Irretrievable” from Reset to Factory Specs
I consider myself to be a good judge of character, especially upon meeting someone for the first time. It used to feel like a failure on my part when a person would later reveal themselves to be someone else entirely. Like I should have been able to see it coming. But people change. They make choices. Choices that can accumulate, imperceptibly, until you’re standing there in a hailstorm wondering how you got there and didn’t think to bring protection. I trust easily. These days I trust people to be who they are, and I leave my expectations out of it.
