Who I am
I'm Leslie Hudson, an internationally touring singer-songwriter with more than a dozen albums that range from storytelling styles to bluesy bar rock to full-band homages to pop culture. My co-writer is a piano and my happy place is vocal layering, collaborating with other artists and generally being unpigeonholeable (thank you, Tim Minchin).
What I make
I will write about anything and everything I'm passionate about: folklore, faeries, redheads, space opera, touring, relationships, mental health, and poisonous plants. Once a month I make new music to give to my patrons before anyone else gets to see or hear it, with private links to any videos I share, and many of the stories behind the songs I write.
How I thrive
Patronage is a great system because there's no one between you, me and what I create. When I'm not touring or releasing albums I still have to pay bills and buy groceries and because of my patrons I know I'll have the funds to keep myself healthy so I can keep making art. I'm grateful to be part of so many supportive communities that value original music and independent musicians. Thank you for making it possible to do my dream job!
