“Locked In” with Quadrivium written for FAWM 2025
I have often characterized the friendship I’ve formed with death as a dance. For as long as I can remember I’ve been wondering about what death is, what it means, and how it manifests as a shadow through life. I’ve written about it, sung about it, explored my life experience with it, and faced it down on more than one occasion. Within the song itself I am safe to acknowledge and converse with concepts I am otherwise reluctant to discuss or admit to myself. When friends lend their voices too, in all the ways they do, the dance goes on.
